Deaf Expo in Auckland 2017

The leaders of Auckland Deaf Community (organising committee) of Auckland’s Deaf Expo 2017 with Merge NZ warmly invite you all to celebrate the International Week of the Deaf with us and everyone. We are pleased to announce, there will be 15 exhibitiers of Deaf/NZSL-friendly business owners and organisations waiting for you.

You will have a chance to watch series of presentation that will interest you, you are most welcome to walk around, build up networking and have a lively conversation with variety of Deaf/NZSL-related business owners, organisations representatives and individuals from the Deaf Community.

The World Federation of the Deaf organises the ‘International Week of the Deaf’ (IWD) annually. The IWD takes place under the theme ‘Full Inclusion with Sign Language’. At the Auckland's Deaf Expo, there will be a launch ceremony organised by Deaf Action New Zealand, launching the 'Watch Us' project. The Watch Us is a platform where we Deaf people in New Zealand can share their stories in NZSL and we all learn from one another.

It believes this event will contribute a positive message for a full social inclusion of Deaf people wherever possible when NZSL is recognised and used widely within the society.

The Deaf Community members from Auckland and outside of Auckland, parents of Deaf children, professionals working with Deaf people, NZSL students and all visitors are most welcome to the Greater Auckland's Deaf Expo 2017.

Enjoy as much as possible! See you there!
